RAIN WHISPERER

Her dogs are spoiled, her husband’s a sitcom co-star and her greeting cards need therapy.
Christina Madonia-Knisley is a small-town satirist with a heart as big as her punchlines—one part Hallmark heroine, two parts Lucille Ball caught in a roundabout. From booping alpaca noses to blogging through cancer like its stand-up comedy, she turns life’s messes into literary magic. She collects rainy days like others collect stamps, finds purpose in puddles, and writes like her keyboard is powered by espresso and emotional whiplash. Her dogs are spoiled, her husband’s a sitcom co-star and her greeting cards need therapy. Whether she’s having deep chats with a velour-clad God, penning a love letter to her lungs (sarcastically), or launching a fake company just to make people laugh—she does it with grace, grit, and a grocery list of random hatreds (looking at you, sunshine and coffee creamer). Simply put: Christina is the kind of storyteller you’d want narrating your life… or at least roasting it with flair.

AUGUST, 2025. RAIN OR SHINE.

My book, The Rain Whisperer, started with a storm. Not the poetic kind or a symbolic crisis—but a real, blindsiding, life-upending, out-of-the-deepest-blue kind of storm. A lung cancer diagnosis. ALK-positive, to be exact. One day I was just living my life, and the next, I was thrown into a world of scans, meds, appointments, and the constant hum of ‘What now?’
At first, I wrote to just to stay sane. I needed a place to put
everything—my fears, my frustration, and the surprisingly funny
moments that still managed to sneak in. Writing became a kind of
lifeline, a way to make sense of the chaos. But over time, it turned
into something else. Something healing. Something beautiful.
What you’ll find in these pages isn’t just about cancer. It’s about
life—small-town life, real life, messy life. It’s about the ridiculous
things people say, the quiet grace that shows up when you least
expect it, and the odd magic of laughing through tears. It’s not always neat, but it’s honest.
The Rain Whisperer is a celebration of the human spirit’s
remarkable ability to find joy and hope in the midst of adversity.
I invite you to walk with me through these pages, to find solace in
shared experience, and to listen to the subtle whispers of wisdom
carried in every drop of rain.
Let’s find the laughter that makes the storm worth weathering.
